Meet Lisa Kurolap, a business coach based out of British Colombia, Canada dedicated to helping female entrepreneurs in the wellness space (holistic nutritionists, breathwork facilitators, nervous system coaches, etc.) gain crystal-clear clarity on their business goals and objectives, set strong roots and soar to new heights.

Lisa came to us wanting to build a brand that would connect her with her people: down-to-earth, grounded women in the wellness world who prioritise their personal growth, health and well-being in their day-to-day lives. All whilst bringing nature, ease, joy, and peace into the business coaching world.

She wanted to position her brand as a dependable and trusted source within the coaching industry and convey her inclusive, client-centric approach. She wanted to show potential clients they are not just another 'number' to her, rather, they are understood and included and left feeling as if they’ve finally found what they have been searching for.

OUR SOLUTION

We set out to bring the calm of a forest into the hustle and bustle of the coaching world.

We crafted the overall brand to feel inviting, trustworthy, peaceful and dependable. We wanted the brand identity to truly radiate Lisa’s relatable personality and inclusive, grounded energy, and to position her as a coach who genuinely cares about her clients and their growth.

We opted for a colour palette inspired by the natural world that draws her audience in and welcomes them with a warm embrace. The use of neutral shades ‘Bark’ and ‘Mist’ within the brand colour palette brings a sense of calm, comfort and peace. Green shades ‘Sage’ and ‘Pine’ help convey the message of growth, new beginnings, renewal, abundance and of course, nature. ‘Tide’ shows reliability and trust. The rich brown shade ‘Burnt Hickory’ allows the use of a higher contrast colour when needed without being as intense as black.

The vision for the primary logo was to humanise it as much as possible to emit that the brand is like a supportive friend who deeply cares. We did this by hand-drawing/writing the primary logo instead of using an existing font. Hand-drawing the primary logo also ensures it is one of a kind, acting as a nod to the unique, incomparable individual that Lisa is in a sea of coaches. A thick, rounded-edge pen was used to create the primary logo, adding to the overall goal of the brand feeling inviting, trustworthy, peaceful and dependable.

The sub-mark logo incorporated the ‘LK’ from the primary logo encapsulated in a rough-drawn circle. A circle was chosen for the sub-mark logo to symbolise the journey of growth and new beginnings. The messy, hand-drawn effect of the circle ties into the overall earthy, down-to-earth essence of the brand.

Finally, we developed hand-drawn illustrations to represent each one of Lisa’s offerings, ‘Roots, Soar, Fire and Clarity’. We also worked on bringing in natural textures and finishes to affirm the humbleness of the brand and to make it relatable to the clients Lisa was planning to attract. We did this mainly through the brush used to create the custom hand-drawn illustrations and texture effects used across branding materials.
